What Biome refuses to do
A platform's negative spec is more important than its positive one. These are not preferences. They are conditions of existence.
No commercial entanglement
Never sell supplements, recommend brands, or accept sponsorship from any wellness, supplement, or device company. Ever.
No prescription
Biome explains; it does not instruct. The verbs are describe, show, map, compare, link to source — not take, do, start, try, optimize.
No opaque scores
Reduce a person to a score, a streak, or a stack. The body is not a leaderboard. If a number is shown, the math is shown.
No false certainty
Pretend contested science is settled, or hide research that complicates a popular claim. Both positions shown with relative strength.
No deterministic predictions
Modeled trajectories carry their uncertainty visibly. Life expectancy is framed as a modeling exercise, never as fate.
No hidden sources
Every claim is linked. Every methodology is shown. If Biome cannot show its math, it does not show a number.
No data surveillance
No third-party analytics on health data. No advertising pixels. No data sale. No data sharing without explicit consent.
No replacing clinical care
A persistent disclaimer is the floor; the source policy is the enforcement. Biome is a mirror, not a clinician.
